Designer Biography
Jackie S. Keehan currently lives in Southport, Connecticut with her 2 sons and husband Kyle. Prior to moving to Connecticut, she lived and worked in Manhattan as a fashion buyer for Saks, J. Crew, Newport News and Bloomingdale's. Jackie played a key role in putting together collections for both private label and branded merchandise throughout her career. She has over 20 years experience in nearly every category in the fashion industry.
She left Manhattan to raise a family but never set aside her passion for style and fashion. Not long after moving to Connecticut, she quickly developed a tremendous following of new homeowners needing interior design help in Fairfield County, Connecticut. The housing market was booming and interior design allowed her to build a successful business while utilizing her creative instincts. With a naturally trained eye for fashion and color, Jackie set her mind to fabrics for the home rather than fabrics for the body. In 2003, she co-founded and launched www.fabricworkroom.com to expand the business to customers throughout the US & Canada. FabricWorkroom.com has grown to a leading company in custom home decorating.
Jackie never lost her connection to the latest fashion and style. Paying close attention to the women’s swimwear industry, she realized there was a huge void in stylish and sexy two piece swimsuits for a woman in her 30’s and 40’s. In 2010, Jackie designed the Yokini Swimwear Bottom (patent pending). Yokini Swimwear gives women the freedom to micro fit the suit bottom to her unique body contour. The unique design and fit of the bottom controls and conceals your hip area unlike any other suit bottom on the market.
Jackie began her fashion career soon after attending college in Virginia where she studied Business & Marketing. While preparing for her business career, she worked in sales at the Ann Taylor store in Princeton, NJ. She was quickly recognized for her fashion sense and sales skills and a few months later joined the team at the Flagship store on 57th Street in Manhattan. She was recruited by Bloomingdale's into their Buying office where she held the position of Assistant Shoe and Handbag Buyer at age 24. From there, Jackie was promoted and recruited to several other large fashion companies with her last position being the lead Buyer for the 20 million dollar Saks Folio Menswear Catalog.
Jackie was born in New York and grew up in Princeton, NJ. Jackie’s childhood was surrounded by many sisters and a fashion savvy mother. Dressing and negotiating with three sisters for clothes gave her early exposure and a lasting passion for fashion. Yokini® swimwear is available at select retail locations and at yokiniswimwear.com
